Spinners’ comments: A very satisfactory tool, excellent for spinning a wide range of yarns,

from superfine to bulky, using any fiber you choose. Good for plying, too. Very easy to change

bobbins. Take-up adjustment is quite precise, so you can have anything from very gentle to very

firm "pull" on the yarn. There’s no speed-control knob, so you can’t set the speed at a certain

number and leave it there, but the foot control is sensitive, and with practice you can get the spinner

to go as slow or fast as you want. Take a minute to master the foot control before you start spinning.

Few spinners can draft fast enough to keep up with this spinner at high speed, but those who can will

appreciate that—even at high RPM—there’s virtually no vibration. Despite the spinner’s extraordinary

high-tech appearance, spinning on it feels familiar; the speed and tension can be easily held at very low

levels for the spinner’s initial comfort, or for making soft yarns. Relatively quiet; doesn’t disturb other

people in the room or interfere with watching television. Durable and carefree; needs no maintenance—

not even lubrication (the bearings are permanently sealed).
